A week ago, a woman came to see me with her mother. She suffered from a very long monthly period that would last twenty days. She had seen a large number of doctors, some of whom advised that she should have her ovaries removed to avoid getting cancer. I gave her and her mother the pledge, asked her to do the dhikrs of the Ṭarīqa, and reminded her to remain modest, as is required of every Muslim woman. Today she came back to see me looking very happy. The bleeding had stopped and she is now asking that her period becomes regular by the blessings of dhikr. She said:

After visiting you, I saw in a dream a man who told me: “I am Abū Saʿīd. This is the deputy of Shaikh Muḥammad al-Kasnazan. He has connected your heart to the heart of Shaikh Muḥammad and the Greatest Ghawth.[1] You do not need an operation. You will be alright.”

When the Shaikh heard about this karāma, he said that the man in the dream was ḥaḍrat Shaikh Abū Saʿīd al-Makhzūmī.[2]

Footnotes

[1] The Arabic word “Ghawth” refers to a top spiritual rank. The word means “helper,” in reference to the fact that a “Ghawth” is someone who has spiritual powers that allow him to paranormally help others. “Al-Ghawth al-Aʿẓam” or “the Greatest Ghawth” is a title that Allah vested on Shaikh ʿAbd al-Qādir al-Gaylānī, signifying the fact that he is the greatest of all Ghawths.

[2] Shaikh Abū Saʿīd al-Makhzūmī is the Master whom Shaikh ʿAbd al-Qādir al-Gaylānī took the pledge from and succeeded as the Master of the Ṭarīqa.
