Releasing a Youth from Detention

After returning from a short preaching visit, I found two women waiting for me and crying. One of them looked scared and said: “I ask you by ʿAbd al-Qādir al-Gaylānī! My son has quarrelled with a Hindu man and he is now in the police station. You know that we are Muslims and the police station is run by Hindus. I have no power or money other than knocking on the door of the Greatest Ghawth.” I said: “Go to the flag of the takya and say: ‘O Shaikh Muḥammad al-Kasnazan. I want my son from you,’ and wait.”

After two hours a child who is a neighbour of the woman came to tell her: “I have come to bring the good news to you that your son is now back home.” She kissed the takya’s floor and left.
